We’re pleased to announce the launch of 100 new 12-week internship opportunities for 18–21-year-olds, as part of our Youth Guarantee Trailblazers (YGT) programme. This offer is part of our commitment to helping young people build workplace confidence and skills through real-world experience — while supporting employers to take on new talent.

What's Different

If you’ve taken part in the UKSPF 6-week internship programme, this new offer will feel familiar — but it’s designed specifically for younger candidates (aged 18–21). While the total bursary remains £600 per intern, the time commitment is extended to 12 weeks, offering greater opportunity for the intern to grow, contribute, and develop.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to explore this fantastic initiative, it's a great model and we look to use it again soon. In fact, we are hoping that this will continue into 2026 where we plan to divert our main focus on apprenticeships into you're Internships and onto our trainee programs.

How It Compares to the 6-Week Programme

If you haven’t already, the first step is to complete our short Training Needs Analysis (TNA). This registers your organisation for support and helps shape our conversations around the funding and assistance we can offer. It takes around 15 minutes to complete and is available online here >> Training Needs Analysis (Page 1 of 7)
Once the TNA is submitted, we’ll invite you to join a short group session to go through the internship requirements and the simple application process. These sessions cover:
  • The funding available
  • How our admin systems work
  • The recruitment and upskilling support CPCA Skills and Employment can offer
There will be a Q&A at the end, and we’ll share the link to apply for internship funding after the session.
To streamline the process, we ask all employers to complete a single Expression of Interest (EOI) form. Based on your responses, we’ll guide you to the most suitable funding offer.
