Calling all 16 to 25 year-olds who have faced barriers to learning and work
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority is leading a Trailblazer Programme for a new Youth Guarantee that seeks to ensure all 18- to 21-year-olds across the region have access to the support they need to secure employment and further skills development.
This is a new and developing programme that we want to shape for young people, with young people.
We are looking for 16 to 25-year-olds from across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough who have lived experience of being out of work and out of education to bring their expertise to the programme. This is an excellent opportunity for you to help shape local and national policy focused on supporting more young people into employment.
What's involved
You will work with local government, national government, and employers to shape what young people can access locally. You will also be involved in various events and activities that will help you develop in-demand skills, such as communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, earning Digital Badges recognised by local employers.
This is a voluntary opportunity, but all out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed and participants will receive a gift voucher after six months of continuous service, as well as opportunities for networking and mentorship.
Forum members will need to:
-
Attend forum meetings once a month for up to 2 hours (online, or in-person)
-
Read and evaluate information and feed in your ideas and suggestions
-
Work with other young people aged 16-25 across the region to shape ideas and concepts
-
Engage with social media and in-person campaigns and events, including with the Mayor and with employers
